When a restaurant is really good, it leaves an impression. But, no matter how good the food is, how often do you feel such a connection with a restaurant that not only has it left an impression on you, but you on it? At Malanga Cafe, all of their guests are invited to leave their mark—literally. Like the restaurant-bar Bodeguita del Medio in Old Havana before it, Malanga Cafe has set up a space on their walls for patrons to sign in remembrance of their meal. Who knows, maybe the next Ernest Hemingway or Nat King Cole—two signatories on Bodeguita del Medio’s walls—could be at the next table over? It wouldn’t surprise us, because the food at Malanga Cafe is so good, it attracts patrons from all over. The menu features authentic Cuban dishes created on location using family recipes and the freshest ingredients. The corn used in the Cuban tamales is even ground by hand. And all that love translates into the flavors which are rich and delicious. We especially love the Pan con Lechon, a sandwich using soft Cuban bread and loaded with shredded roast pork, lettuce, and tomato, and served with a side of sautéed onions. There’s a dish, a table, and a spot on the wall for everyone at Malanga Cafe where they definitely leave a lasting impression.
